Earthquake!

Hi this is Karen's family on behalf of Karen, Randy, and Maia
We received word this afternoon that there was an earthquake in Haiti. the school has collapsed completely but by the grace of God they don't think that anyone was in the school. Randy, Karen, Maia, Kim, John Kottelenberg, and Jim Kampstra are all ok. Please Pray

This is an email sent by Karen after the Quake:
Good Evening All,
We just wanted to let you all know that, by the grace of God, our lives have been spared. An earthquake hit Haiti just before 5 this evening. Randy, Maia and I were at the school along with our two visitors, John Kottelenberg and Jim Kamstra, as well as a bunch of our secondary students and the school collapsed right before our eyes. It was the scariest moment of our lives. As far as we know no one is trapped in the school. Kim is safe as well.
There is much devastation here and many unknowns, please keep praying for Haiti and her people.
O Lord have mercy!

Randy, Karen, Maia, and Kim too---I pray that God gives you the strength to continue to pray through the Happy New Year prayer you had just posted previously on this blog. That he continues to bless you with good health and safety and with the creativity and care it will take to know where to go and what to do next! That he will continue to love Haiti through you and through your efforts, and that your communities back home are able to pour out love and support for you as you need it.

Dear Randy,Karen & Maia; Just wanted to tell you that I am thankful you are safe. The chaos and loss and grief must feel very surreal. I keep thinking about the Casting Crowns song "Praise You In This Storm", knowing and trusting that all things work for His glory and honour. Hang on to His promises. Joshua 1:9 "I love you and will never leave you, I am with you wherever you may go.." Keeping you, the people and your cause in my prayers. We're thankful you're ok and we will be praying for you and the Haitian people as you work to rebuild. "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea... The Lord Almighty is with us!" Psalm 46:1,2

Hi,

I'm so glad that you and yours are safe. My dad is a Physicians Assistant working in Minnesota. He is planning to come to Haiti to provide what help he can for the next month. I'm wondering if you could help me find information on any medical organization he could connect with before he goes so that he knows what supplies he should bring and where he could be the most help. Do you have any ideas?

Gods Blessings
